BCM Networking Evening

The Business Council of Mongolia (BCM) organized its Networking evening on 20 October 2022 at Shangri-la Ballroom. The event was sponsored by BCM proud member BDO Mongolia. BDO Mongolia is one of the oldest accounting firms in Mongolia, providing audit, tax and advisory services with an in-depth understanding of local and global markets, providing services in 159 countries, with over 59,000 people.

BCM would like to thank our members and supporters for spending a fine evening with us and BDO Mongolia for their generous contribution. Thank you very much for attending our Networking Event! The BCM appoints Raphaël Goué as official BCM Representative in Europe

Dear BCM Members,

The Business Council of Mongolia is pleased to announce Mr. Raphaël Goué as an official BCM Representative in Europe.

Raphaël Goué is an expert in energy and banking, having spent more than 12 years in Asia as well as being involved in Europe-Asia cross-border projects since the mid-90s, with a focus on financial services, energy and telecommunications.

Mr. Goué has a wealth of experience in supporting global financial institutions and energy companies in their strategies in Asia, as well their development and M&A. He has previously held various positions in organizations such as Société Générale, Vivendi Universal, Booz & Co and Capital One in Europe, Africa and Asia. As a senior advisor of the global retail banking association EFMA, Raphaël has been supporting the development of banking’s leading association in selected Asian markets, and supporting EFMA in the fintech sector in Europe.

He holds an engineering degree from the École Nationale Supérieure de Géologie in Nancy, France, a master in material science from École de Mines de Nancy, and a MBA from HEC (Paris) he finalized at the Columbia Business School (New York).

The BCM is looking forward to expanding its reach to Europe with Mr. Goué’s leadership and assistance.

Members of the Business Council of Mongolia met with Mr. ENKHTAIVAN Ganbold, Deputy Governor of the Монголбанк /Монгол Улсын Төв банк/.

During this session Mr. Enkhtaivan presented about Specialized Investment Banking Law (overview of the bill) including submission, and discussion of the bill, Initial Draft, Contents of the improved bill; Legal status, Activities/operations, establishment of the bank Supplementary requirements for foreign bank, financial institutions, management/supervision of the bank monitoring and surveillance Regulation.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mr.Enkhtaivan, for the presentation and the staff of Bank of Mongolia for assisting us in co-organising the session.

THE BCM SUBMITTED POLICY PAPER (13 October 2022)

ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia – The Business Council of Mongolia (BCM) has submitted joint request to Government of Mongolia on issues and concerns with Corporate Income Tax Law. 13 October 2022.

BCM Secretariat has submitted summary of issues and proposed solutions on newly adopted Corporate Income Tax law drafted by the Chair and Vice-Chairs of the Tax & Regulatory Working group /lead by Ms. Kh.Amarjargal, Country Director Mongolia-Rio Tinto, Mr.B.Battushig - Founding Partner of DB&GTS LLP and Mr.R.Khishignemekh -Senior Partner of Ernest and Young TMZ/.

The 42 pages of findings and recommendations was submitted to the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of Mongolia, to the Minister of Finance, to the Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry; to Secretariat of the State Great Khural (Parliament); Standing Committee on the Economic Affairs; Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs; Standing Committee on the Budget; Economy and Development Ministry. In collaboration with Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar Chamber of Commerce and Mongolian National Association.

BCM would like to thank Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar Chamber of Commerce and Mongolian National Mining Association and BCM Regulatory&Tax Working group for their efforts to protect legal interests and rights of business entities in Mongolia.

AGREEMENT FOR COOPERATION AND EXCHANGE

The Business Council of Mongolia has signed an Agreement for Cooperation withVancouver Chapter of the Canada Eurasia Chamber Of Commerce (CECC) on 22 September 2022. Both organizations agreed to take all the opportunities within their competence to promote, strengthen and expand trade, economic, scientific, technological cooperation and other business relations between members of both organizations as well as other representatives of private and public sectors in Canada and Mongolia.

Members of the Business Council of Mongolia met with Governor of Bank of Mongolia, Mr. B.Lkhagvasuren.
During this session, the Governor presented an update on the External economic environment (foreign demand, foreign inflation and commodity prices), Domestic economic environment (inflation, economic growth, money and credit, balance of payments).
