PROJECT OFFICER WOMEN’S ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

The Asia Foundation Mongolia (TAF) is inviting applicants to submit their credentials for the position of Project Officer for projects being implemented by the Asia Foundation promoting women’s economic empowerment.

                                   

Project Officer Responsibilities and Requirements

The Project Officer will play a key role in the day to day management of initiatives focused on supporting women’s economic empowerment through activities including support for women-led businesses, policy analysis and advocacy on measures government can take to support women’s full participation in the economy, and coordinating civil society efforts to promote equality in the workplace and eliminate bias, managing relations and dialogue with Mongolian civil society, leading administrative tasks relating to contract and grant management. 

Responsibilities: The PO will report directly to the Deputy Program Manager (PM) and will contribute to the effective implementation of projects related to women’s economic empowerment. The PO will support efforts to build and maintain relationships with key partners in the private sector and with Mongolian civil society partners. Under the guidance of the DPM, the PO will build regularly communicate with partners, develop and oversee grants and contracts, support donor reporting as well as monitoring and evaluation, and work with the PM and DPM to think creatively about future program design and directions.  

Requirements: A Master’s Degree in Public Policy, Gender Studies, Economics, Business, Sociology, International Relations, Political Economy, Law, or other related Social Science degrees is preferred, and a relevant Bachelor’s Degree is required. Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Mongolian and English language are required. A written test should be expected in both languages.

 

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience and possesses a practical experience working with civil society, and specifically on issues relating to gender equality. The candidate will have excellent communication skills, and have a constructive attitude towards work. The PO should be well organized, adaptable, a self-starter, critical thinker, and solution-oriented. Excellent written and spoken Mongolian and English language skill is required.
