Climate Change and Clean/Sustainable Energy
Purpose and Objective
The transition to clean, sustainable energy in Mongolia's business sector faces several significant barriers that a dedicated working group must address. Key among this is outdated inconsistent policies that create uncertainty for investors, discouraging the long-term commitment needed for renewable energy projects . Furthermore, a lack of awareness about the benefits of renewable energy technologies among businesses and the general public hampers adoption and implementation efforts . Additionally, there is a pressing shortage of technical expertise, which limits the capacity to design, implement, and maintain advanced energy solutions . Geographic challenges also complicate project implementation, as Mongolia's vast and remote areas can increase logistical difficulties and costs. Moreover, the impacts of climate change can disrupt energy supply and create further vulnerabilities in the energy sector . By establishing a focused working group, stakeholders can collaborate effectively to develop comprehensive strategies that address these and other unmentioned challenges, promote awareness, enhance technical capacity, and ultimately foster a sustainable energy future for Mongolia. Through coordinated efforts, the group can drive policy reforms and create an environment conducive to investment in clean energy initiatives, benefiting both the economy and the environment.
