Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC (ETT)
At the outset, Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi project started up on August 27, 2010, and thus, ETT was formed on December 23, 2010, to exercise a GoM mandate to develop a strategic coal deposit – Tavan Tolgoi (TT) and operate coal mines in
the South Gobi region in Mongolia as per Parliament of Mongolia (PoM) and Government of Mongolia (GoM) Cabinet resolutions.
ETT had a certificate from and registered with the National Registration Agency on the same day as a legal entity licensed to run mineral exporation and mining operations in Mongolia. On top of that ETT implements energy,
infrastructure, water supply system, and coal processing industry projects that can facilitate coal mining to develop the strategic coal deposit under the Minerals Law.
Moreover, ETT has business lines in extra coal surveying and exploration, coal product sale on the world market, and national and international initial public offerings (IPOs) inter alia. The slogan of ETT is ‘ETT for the good of the
country’ and the vision – to achieve the ETT mining-infrastructure-industry development model. ETT is part of a Mongolia Coal and Energy Group combined all coal and energy businesses in Mongolia and ETT CEO leads the group.
The mission of ETT is to perform business operations in the leading sectors of Mongolia’s economy – mining, heavy industry, energy, transportation, and logistics, a ‘mining-infrastructure-industry’ complex as a group, pursue sound investment policy, ensure sustainable development that supports employees and partners, produce and make value-added products, which meet international standards, global brands, and supply and sell them on markets, thereby making up over 5% of GDP in Mongolia and ramping up the shareholder value.
